She was born in a wealthy Majorcan family with an intense artistic activity. She soon showed promise as a piano performer. In 1882, she moved to Barcelona and studied composition with Felip Pedrell. There, she also entered intellectual and artistic circles and got in contact with figures such as Santiago Rusiñol, Antoni Gaudí and Joaquim Mir. She taught music at the Escola Normal de Mestres in Palma from 1914 onwards. A few years later, she was forced to marry and subsequently disappeared from the cultural scene. She composed dance and piano music, as well as songs for voice and piano with Italian and French influence.
