Pianist and pedagogue
Disciple of Bernat Calvó Puig and Joan Baptista Dalmau. He played an important role in 19th-century piano education in Catalonia, teaching music privately and at Escoles Pies in Barcelona. Joan Baptista Pujol was among his students.
As many important instrumentalists of that time, he supplemented his salary performing at Teatre Novedades’s café in Barcelona. He composed piano music such as the schotisch El Manileño and El Arroyuelo, and the Fantasía sobre motivos de la ópera Roberto il Diabolo.
