In 1901 he founded the Granados Academy and in 1912, the Sala Granados de Concerts. In addition, his output includes songs, opera and stage music –which he often composed in collaboration with A. Mestres and Teatre Líric Català. He acquainted also Saint-Saëns, Ravel, Debussy or Grieg. He performed Goyescas for piano at the Palau de la Música (1911) and Salle Pleyel (1914), and premiered the opera Goyescas at the Metropolitan Opera (New York). He also recorded music, some of it for player piano. Some of his compositions have been considered milestones of the pianistic repertoire. Together with Albéniz, he is considered the founder of the Catalan piano school. His performing style is virtuosic influenced by late romanticism.
